Tier 1 Visa - General Information
 

Tier 1 visas are designed to attract those Non-EEA National, who would be able to make significant contribution to the British Economy, what the Home Office refer to as the 'brightest and best' of potential UK immigration candidates. These 'brightest and best' Non-EEA nationals would be able to enter or remain in the UK under Tier-1 category either for long-term business or employment purposes.

Under Tier 1, the applicants would not require any sponsor. It does not require applicants to have a Certificate of Sponsorship or an offer of employment to be in place and aims to attract the most talented migrants who will be of most economic benefit to the UK. With the exception of the Post-Study Work category, time spent in the UK will count towards the minimum residency requirement of five years for permanent settlement in the UK.

Tier 2 Visas: General Information
 

Tier 2 visas are designed for medium and highly skilled workers immigrating to the UK. As a part of the new UK visa structure, under the Points Based System, Tier 2 has replaced the previous work permits. Under Tier – 2, the Applicants are required to have a confirmed offer of employment with a British Company.

All non-EEA nationals are required to have a sponsor in place and must be in possession of a Certificate of Sponsorship in order to apply for a tier 2 UK Work Permit.

Tier 2 Work Permits

Under Tier 2 work permits, the Applicants are required to have a confirmed offer of employment with a British company. Tier – 2 work permit is an employer led process with the sponsoring company applying on behalf of the Applicant.

Under Tier – 2, the applications are assessed against a points test, in this case with a 50-point minimum pass mark. All applicants will be required to meet this threshold in order to qualify.
